Delhi Blast Condemned

Date:
7 September 2011

Press Statement

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:

Delhi Blast Condemned

The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the bomb blast perpetrated at the gate of the Delhi High Court.  Nine people have been killed and 50 injured. This is part of a nefarious design to disrupt peace and harmony.

This blast has come after an earlier attempt six months earlier in the parking lot of the High Court. This latest attack has come after the serial blasts in Mumbai city in July. The perpetrators of these attacks have not yet been identified or apprehended. This failure of the Government and the intelligence-security agencies is a matter of serious concern.

It is imperative that the government take effective measures to identify and apprehend the people involved. Only this will assure the people of their security.

The Polit Bureau conveys its heartfelt sympathy to all those who have lost their family members in this heinous attack.
